Kent Hrbek

What can you say about a guy who wakes up on the morning of Game 7 of the World Series and goes duck hunting? He lives for the Great Outdoors - that's what!

Those were the days...
Born in the shadows of Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington, MN, Kent Hrbek is a true-blue Minnesotan in every sense of the word. Baseball was a love, but the Outdoors is, and will always be a passion. "I remember as a 10 year-old going up north to my Grandma and Grandpa's, catching creek chubs and spending the whole day fishing with Grandpa." says Hrbie with a quick smile.

Even during his 13 years of Major League Baseball, Hrbie was never afraid to secretly plan fishing & hunting excursions in between hitting homers and scooping up groundballs, only confessing to these "field trips" after many of his major league games.

Hrbie's World at Home...
A busy guy, Hrbie always makes time for the two loves of his life, his wife Jeanie and daughter Heidi, who continually keep the Hrbek household hopping with keen interests in figure skating, butterflies, and just about any animal known to mankind. Don't be surprised to see Heidi run her own Wildlife Sanctuary some day.

The Rest of the Story...
The night of that now infamous early morning Minnesota duck hunt on October 25, 1987, Kent Hrbek led the Minnesota Twins to their first World Championship, beating the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 7.

Eric Gislason

"I've never met an outdoor story I didn't like...I spent 20 years covering it all...World Series, Super Bowls, Stanley Cups, Olympics...but at the end of the day my favorite is still the excitement I get when I can tell real stories about real people who love the great outdoors."

Those were the days...
Born and raised in Minnesota...Eric Gislason's favorite season growing up was whatever what was in season... hunting or fishing. "Piling into my Dad's old 67 Chevy as a family and heading to the cabin up north for fishing or hunting as a kid are some of my most favorite childhood memories. I've never lost that "little kid" in me when it comes to celebrating the great outdoors." says Gis.
